Alex, good question on why we do not use our website as our primary source of funding. The reason is simple: we enjoy the other projects we do too much. We feel that the other projects add a level of learning that focusing 100% on our website wouldn't fulfill. For example, we would have never had this experience of going to remote villages in West Bengal, India and meeting women who were able to change their lives through microfinance if it weren't for the line of freelance work that we do. I learned so much in this two-day project and subsequent projects with microfinance organizations.

That's not to say that we shouldn't try and improve our website to get more income from it. But even if we were able to live entirely off of our website, I wouldn't want to give up some of the other work we do for the learning and experience value it provides.

Hey John!!

Audrey and Daniel seem like they legitimately are doing it because they love it.

You can feel the fact that they want to melt into life.

Interesting to hear that they're not using their blog for their primary source of funding - and that they don't intend to in the future. I'm interested to hear why not. Of course, having a single source of income can be considered risky but i don't buy that if you're good at what you do. Although they say their freelance stuff is doing really well but if they would do their blog for free then surely they love it enough to do full time instead of some freelance and some blogging? i'd be interested to hear their reasoning.

Really fresh to get some honest feedback on nomadic life.

All the best

John, thanks so much for taking interest in our story and journey for this interview. You understand well that in order to succeed in this type of lifestyle, it takes a lot of work, creativity and persistence. But, the rewards are also great in living a fulfilling life focused on continual learning.

Thanks to everyone for your comments and kind words about the interview! I'm glad you appreciated the honest responses regarding the challenges involved in working continually from the road and trying to build a business.

Thanks for the comment Phil.

I am glad you like the interview. I agree 100%. Too many people sell ideas like lifestyle design, entrepreneurship and blogging as some easy path to riches and the good life. While it is great to take charge of your own life, it is not as glamorous and lucrative as many people pretend. Great results always require great effort. There are few short cuts to success. Audrey and Daniel have a great lifestyle because they make sacrifices, work hard and they are talented. It is that simple. It is just not easy.

I love the honesty in this interview. It would be easy to state that three years of constant world travel while running a business and doing freelance work is a dream come true, at all times. But the fact that you've laid out the struggles you face in maintaining your lifestyle, makes your adventures all the more impressive and inspirational! It's been wonderful to learn more about Audrey and Dan...

I enjoy reading Uncornered Market and liked one of the main points about making money on the road from this interview. It's important to have multiple income streams and put your skills to work for you. Much easier to earn money when a little bit is already coming in. Helps the travel too.

Thanks for the comment Colin!

Audrey and Daniel definitely have accomplished a lot. I love their slow travel focus. Many people seem to get hung up on getting as many stamps in their passports as possible. I love discovering the travelers that are out to really explore our planet.

Thanks for the comment and kind words Nate.

Sorry about the length. I know people like to skim short posts but I personally want to learn about the details of how people live.
