		<description>I think you&#039;re right in that you won&#039;t make money simply copying an already successful idea, unless that competitor has been making money doing a generally shoddy job. Facebook is an interesting case in point. On the one hand, I don&#039;t think it&#039;s any secret that Mark Zuckerberg &#039;acquired&#039; his ideas from some former employers, but got his plan up and running more quickly, and marketed it more efficiently.

But, in many ways, he has also managed to out-space MySpace, which was established long before Facebook came on the scene. Although MySpace was originally a haven for unsigned bands trying to get themselves noticed, it really achieved it&#039;s popularity on the back of it&#039;s social networking opportunities.

I&#039;m sure they&#039;ve lost a lot of users to Facebook due to slowness in adding new web 2.0 products to their package. Now it seems like they are playing catch-up to Facebook.</description>
