There is so much life after cubes...like surrealism...or was that before cubism? lol sorry had to make the art joke.

Anyways, good interview. It's good to see more people break away.

That 'making money thing' is the hard part isn't it. :-)

My wife and I love China too. It is such a clash of modern and traditional ideas. You can spend $30 for a pot of tea, then go around the corner and have a full dinner for two with beers for $5.

One thing about World Nomads is that it is much more expensive for non-US residents. It can sometimes be triple the price.

I wonder if anyone knows of a good alternative for other countries?

Happy to help a little! I know World Nomads is available worldwide, so I would definitely recommend them for health care. (And if you look around on the Internet, I believe there's a coupon code floating out there.)

As for international banks...that's tough to say. I'd recommend trying to find travel blogs from people from your country and just shooting them an email. I'm sure they'll be happy to help you. That's basically how I found World Nomads and Charles Schwab. Good luck!

Traveling has been surprisingly cheaper than living at home...now if we could figure out that whole making money thing :-).

I (Jason) really liked China...Sharon was so-so on it. We both agree though that it's quite a experience! I definitely recommend a little phrase book and trying to memorize a few Chinese characters -- the meat one's in particular are pretty easy to learn and remember.

Thanks Sam! Yeah, I'm not sure how long we'll be staying, but we're definitely looking forward to being home for at least a little while, the last couple of months of the year!

I appreciate the insight into your budget. It lets people know that traveling can be cheaper than living at home!

Thanks for the heads up on China. I am planning to go there next year so I will make sure I know the names of all my favorite dishes, and how to say "no feet please." :) Chicken feet are very popular at the traditional dim sum here but I never got the appeal myself.

Special thanks for advice on banking, bills and health care! It would be really great if you share more on this topic especially for those who are not in the US. Thanks!
